Vacay Time!

My goodness, what a whirlwind the first 6 months of the year have been. It began with promoting my first book (A Place Called Peace), hosting a few giveaways, attending BAM and facing the fear of public speaking, signing on to contribute to other publications (Grand Magazine and Vibrant Nation), the start of my second book (hint: it's about style), began volunteering my time with Dress for Success, getting to know YOU even better, and the grand finale...appearing on the Chico's blog-Inside Chic (click Inside Chic to see the feature!) Phew...this woman has been busy...but in a good way. I'm not complaining. I'm beyond thrilled with all that has transpired over the course of 6 months. Do you remember what I said my statement of the year would be? It was I'M READY (click I'm Ready for the full story). My goodness, I surely didn't miss the mark. Taking on the statement has proven to be apropos.

Though I consider everything I listed as really good fun, I have to be true to myself - It is time to take a small but fruitful break. Yes, my friends, it's vacay time! I have no travel plans, rather, I want to take in some of my favorite Southern California spots. Would you believe I enjoy boogie boarding? Yes indeed, I love the ocean and plan on spending some days at the beach; taking water aerobics; going to a jazz concert; delving into a good book; stimulating my mind at an art talk...oh and yes, my youngest begins football camp - YIKES!!! I'm happy the guy found his niche, but football scares the bajeebers out of me. So as you can see, I have plenty to do in my own backyard. No traveling necessary.

So before I take-off, I thought I share a new outfit that's been in heavy rotation. The top you've already seen in Free Spirit, however today, I've combined it with colorful shorts and fun jewelry that definitely put a taste in your mouth for vacation. The ensemble is fun, spirited, relaxed, and oh so comfortable. I hope you enjoy today's look, and I'll meet you  below in the comment section. Also, stay to the end. I have a new inspirational story for you at Bloom, called, Peek Outside the Box.

  3. You are ready! Your post illucidates the truth about blogging -- opening yourself up online leads to openings offline. May you continue to grab at the ring. (Love the gold laurel leaf (?) feather (?) bracelet!)

    1. I have learned there is strength in being vulnerable. Both the ring and cuff are feathers.

  10. VACAY! I love this word,Glenda! Down here, we go "on holidays" instead of "vacation". But your word...it's full of fun and all good things holidays (vacays) should be. Hope you're resting, rejuvenating, having a fabulous time.
