MAXImum

There are occasions when a garment makes me fall completely in love. The construction, the silhouette, the fabrication, the fit, and the added details, all blend together to form a perfect, harmonic, fashion union. When this occurs, my senses go on MAXImum overdrive. Isn't it crazy when fashion does that to you?

Such is the case for the maxi dress I'm wearing in this post. Easy to wear, 100 percent cotton in navy blue, kelly green and white come together to create a dramatic chevron pattern. The interest of the dress is heightened with a slight lengthening of the hem at the rear which suggest a minimal high/low silhouette. The fit and flare design is constructed so the fabric cascades perfectly from hip to tip. When I stroll along in my new dress, I feel as if I'm gliding effortlessly with the weight of the fabric gently billowing around my frame. And did I mention the dress has pockets? Enjoy!

Outfit Details - Chevron Stripe Color-block Maxi Dress (a gift from eShakti); Olivia & Joy cross-body bag via TJ Maxx (a great option by Fossil at Nordstrom.com); Lion Head sandals by Miss Trish of Capri (very, very old. Great gold thong sandals at Nordstrom.com).

With the dramatic pattern and shape of the dress, I decided to keep my accessories light and simple. One arm is adorned with two delicate, filigree, gold bangles pushed higher on the arm. The other arm carries my beloved Citizens Crystal Silhouette watch. Simple gold hoops on my ears. I went with the Cat-eye sunglasses to complete the look since the angle of the frames compliments the chevron pattern.

Miss Trish of Capri Sandals. Do you see the lion's green eyes?

  14. I was gobsmacked (I think the expression is). I looked at the dress on the Eshakti site and it looks really nice. But it is so much better on you! With your chocolate skin and your fine figure you are a goddess in this dress. The jewelley and the sandals (oh those fantastic sandals)... I give you a 10+ for styling. Can you tell I am enthousiastic?

  23. I'm only now just catching up on reading my blog list but this was worth the wait. That is the kind of dress you could wear to practically any event or occasion and it would be a knockout. The neckline is beautiful on you and the fit and flare is so so very flattering, it's ridiculous. The bag and dress together really are a match made in heaven. Isn't it wonderful when everything in an outfit just falls into place? And pockets to boot too!
