Fluted

In my opinion, a great skirt is one that has movement and/or fits like a glove. With the denim skirt I'm wearing today, the fluted hemline is what caught my attention while perusing on eBay. I'm not typically attracted to denim skirts because of the stiffness usually associated with them, however the design of this particular one was very appealing. I love the diagonal seams that swirl around my hips and then cascade down into a fun and flirty hemline. To double the flirtation appeal of today's look, I thought it most appropriate to bare a little shoulder.  Fluted Skirt + Bare Shoulders = Feeling Pretty Darn Good.

Today's Look - Fluted Denim Skirt by Stamp 10 via eBay (similar by Michael Kors at Net-a-Porter), Silk Peasant Blouse: Trina Turk (Thrifted) (option at Express), Nine West Vintage America Sandals (limited addition) via eBay, Polish is Devil's Advocate by essie, Sunnies: Loft, Custom made musical note ring.

The only correction I will need to make on the skirt is the addition of waist/belt loops so that I can easily wear a belt. The waist line is a bit too boxy for my liking, which causes me to have to re-adjust. That's not acceptable. When I wear my clothes, I don't want the inconvenience of having to constantly pull at my clothing. Other than adding the belt loops, my new skirt is the type of garment that causes me to walk like they have several men walking behind me. You know what I mean? {wink}

I hope everyone is having an incredibly, flirtatious week!

    1. Thank you Pam! I actually had the heel cut down a bit. The original height was a wee bit too high for me.

    1. I feel like a bit of a mermaid in this skirt :)

      We're having warm weather. Hovering in the high 70s to low 80s. I'm sure we will get some cold before the season changes.

  8. You look wonderful. The outfit is so simple and chic: white blouse is so delicate and light and fits so well with the skirt. And the heels are the hit for me (you have a lot of great shoes!! I'm jealous!) ;) Perfect!

  9. You know I love a denim skirt! I have a maxi that I absolutely adore... I usually reserve it for fall/winter, but now I'm thinking it may be cute in the spring with a pair of sandals and an off-the-shoulder top.

    1. Denim is all the rage for this spring. I don't know, for me, wearing it with boots was just too expected. I wanted to style it differently.

  13. I forgot about that "several men behind you"haha. Good one.
    In the first picture I wasn't that taken by the skirt, but in the second one I was (am). Good buy and indeed very wise to adjust it so you can wear a belt. Pulling is not nice.

  18. This is a great look and I love that skirt style in just about any fabric. I love the denim paired with the peasant style blouse too. So pretty! I know what you mean about a waistline that won't stay put. I have had skirts that moved themselves 180 degrees throughout the day. Definitely not good. xoxo
