Dream Green

During this time of year, when most of the foliage is dormant, it nice to think ahead toward the warmer, more colorful months. Fortunately, because I reside in California, not all vegetation turns brown. We still have our glorious palm trees and other tropical plants to keep us motivated. According to about education, green symbolizes nature and represents tranquility, good luck, health and fertility. There's no wonder why we love green. Just the sight of a lush green landscape evokes positive thoughts.

Since I'm jonesing (desperately wanting) for more greener days, I thought I'd give myself a little mental boost by wearing one of my favorite dresses from Anthropologie. You may recognize the dress from a post I did last February called About Business. Since its last appearance, I had the sleeves removed. The sleeves were short and because of the snug fabric, the tightness on my arms was quite uncomfortable. So, I decided to revitalize the dress by sending it to my sister to have her remove them. I like it so much better than before. Speaking of the snug fit, I must admit that this dress can be tough to wear. As you can see, it hugs ever curve. Not the dress I would choose to wear if I planned on dining. Nonetheless, I love the fit and the shade of green is stunning. Enjoy!

Today's Look - Dress: Embossed Basket Dress by Ganni: Anthropologie (Still available on eBay), Franco Sarto Diamana Leopard Pump: Shopstyle, Renn Woven Crossbody Wristlet: Charming Charlie, Emerald ring was a gift, Citizen Watch, Bracelet from Loft (old), Monogram Charm by Swell Caroline, Polish is Normani by Zoya.

Do you dream in color? I do, as a matter of fact, I dream green {wink}

I hope you're having a great week!

  3. Great idea about removing the sleeves. I've tailored a few garments over the years after I'd just purchased them but I never thought about having them altered afterwards. So smart. The dress is pretty, love the shoes (I'm a fan of leopard print anything). I don't know if I dream in color, I think I do. Hmm...I'll see if I remember tomorrow. :)

    That was super smart to make it sleeveless, it is a real keeper,
    Love it with the leo pumps, and that emerald ring is lovely,

  9. What a clever idea to have the sleeves removed. I like it this way. Thank you, splendid sister.
    It puzzles me why you couldn't wear it to dinner. From the waist down it gets wider...

    1. Gteetje, the entire bodice, which includes my stomach, is fitted. The flare begins below my belly. I am very long-waisted.

  19. Hello Glenda! Forest green is one of my favorite colors and the dress you are wearing made me want to pull my favorite green skirt out of my closet and wear it to go to dinner or somewhere tomorrow with my better half. The color is super rich and looks so amazing on you. You are so blessed to have your sister do the alterations for you. I remember on a previous post you wore a skirt she made for you that I loved very much. She does a great job! The sleeveless dress is super cute and fits you like a glove and I really like the way you styled it. But what I like the most is the attitude and confidence you radiate while wearing it. Have a wonderful weekend my friend. Take care! XOXO, Jeannette

    Green is my favorite color since I remember myself, it is always restful, and energetic at the same time, and always joyful and optimistic. And I always dream in color. :)
