Inspired by Cara

Recently, while scrolling through Instagram, I spotted one of my favorite bloggers, Cara of Cara's Cliche' in the most beautiful sweater. I immediately went over to her blog to see where she purchased the beauty and then headed over to our local shopping/entertainment center to make one of the sweaters my own. It's not everyday that I spot something so perfect for me that I'm immediately pushed to make the purchase. This time was an exception! If you haven't visited Cara's blog, please do so. She has a unique style sense that reminds me of a modern day Coco Chanel. She has the ability to make everything she wears look modern and fresh.

So for today, I'm inspired by Cara and I'm wearing the sweater with my own touches of Glenda. To be inspired is one thing, but to copy...nope, that's not my style. If you have been following So What to Twenty for some time, you know that I absolutely love showing my décolletage. It is a part of my body that gives me great confidence when revealed. To see an off-the-shoulder, cable knit sweater is absolutely scrumptious...in my opinion. A perfect sweater for California, where it can get chilly in the day, but it never really gets too cold. In addition, the sweater has incredible sleeve details - somewhat of a 3/4 inch Bishop sleeve. Enjoy the shots!

Today's Look - Off the Shoulder Sweater: H&M (couldn't find online but try the stores); Petite Curvy Skinny Jeans in Dark Wash: Loft; Amira Silver Pumps: White House Black Market (sold out); Silhouette Crystal Watch: Citizen

I rather like this post idea. Perhaps this will become a series. I love seeing what other bloggers wear and I'm greatly influenced by so many...including what the designers send down the runway. Hmmm, yes, I think I'll begin a new post series called, "Inspired by ( fill in the blank )." It could be you{wink}

  2. Absolutely gorgeous!! But what do you mean with decollete? I can see your shoulders but no cleavage. Is that not the same (being Dutch here)?
    I know you would never copy. As I don't have your skills, but neither have any shame I would happily copy away if I think it is worth it. LOL

    1. Hi Greetje and happy new year!
      I always new decollete as this definition: Décolletage (or décolleté, its adjectival form, in current French) is the upper part of a woman's torso, comprising her neck, shoulders, back and chest, that is exposed by the neckline of her clothing.

  4. Glenda,
    Yes! I can see why you had to have that sweater! I love a classic cable, but a shoulder baring cable with bishop sleeves? AH-mazing! Looks great with the dark wash jeans and stunning metallic pumps with the perfect points....

    1. Yes, Elle, I knew you would understand! Coming to California for a wedding. I hope you're able to catch the rose parade in Pasadena. We just had a big rain storm, so it's pretty chilly. 50 degrees in the day. By the ocean it will be very cold. Enjoy your stay!

  7. Well I must say that I much prefer your version of this outfit. I like a silhouette that is balanced, loose on the top, fitted on the bottom.

    All the very best in 2015!

  11. Beautiful sweater. I love off-the shoulder tops. The same thing happened to me last year, I saw a fashion blogger wearing a chunky, cable knit, winter white turtleneck sweater and I HAD to have it. Luckily it was still online at the Gap and I placed my order without thinking twice. I love the sweater. I love your watch - I'm on the hunt for a new one.

  21. Happy New Year, Glenda! I can see how that sweater has Glenda written all over it! You look lovely in this outfit-chic and cosy. I bought a similar looking pink sweater in a thrift shop recently but it is too cold to wear it right now. Mine is more of a wide cowl neck than off the shoulder but still, I am mainly bundled into several layers these days. I do have a yen for soft pink sweaters right now though. I will keep the image of how great you look in this outfit in my mind when I shop and maybe I will find my own soft pink chic look. xoxo

    1. Happy New Year, Shawna, and thank you! I can't believe I fell for something pink. I don't normally wear pinks and purples, but I had to have the sweater. I LOVE it! Believe it or not, it has been quite cold for Southern Cal. We have been experiencing a real winter with temps in the low 50s for the day and the 30s at night. Buuurrrrr!!
