Classics + a Little Quirk + a Touch of Boho = Glenda

Hi Lovelies!

If you've been following along with me, you know that I was inspired to try my hand at thrift store shopping. So, a few weeks ago, I had my very first experience. However, other bloggers and I agree that eBay does indeed count as thrifting. Since that's the case, I'm an expert (lol)! My husband and I drove over to the Palm Springs area since they have tons of thrift stores. I found two really nice tops. One was seen HERE in Updated 80's and today I'm wearing the other...a lovely, ivory colored, silk, off-the-shoulder Trina Turk in mint condition. I purchased it for $2.50!

OK, Lovelies, give me an "Amen" if you know what I'm talking about with this question...
Don't you just love it when you have on that perfect outfit that makes you feel sexy as heck, confident, and all the elements just werk (no, I didn't misspell)? Such is the case with my look today. It represents the true Glenda - a mix of the classics, a little quirk and a touch of bohemian.

Today's Look: Top: Trina Turk (thrifted), Boyfriend Jeans: Loft, Belt Coin Purse: Amelia old, Pumps: Isaac via eBay, Ring: Anthropologie (sold out), Sunnies: Loft

Style Tip: Having style isn't about wearing the latest trendy outfit, or duplicating a look you saw on someone else. Style is a representation of you and only you. A unique interpretation that gives others a glimpse of who you are.

"Style shouldn't scream. It is a gentle whisper."

    1. Hi Mah. No I didn't make or design the clothes I'm wearing. I purchase from different stores, or someone makes them for me.

  14. Amen! I know exactly what you mean. This outfit is perfect. Love the shiny new top. I have to say that I need to "whisper" more with my outfits. I tend to scream too much. Not stylish, I agree. I just have such a screamy character.. very loud. Oh well...something to work on.

  18. You clearly know how to use trends to serve your sense of style, and I think that's what keeping current is all about. I love to try new ideas, because one of the things that I want my wardrobe to say about me is that I'm aware there is a big wide world and a variety of perspectives out there beyond MidNowhere. I love your ability to edit ... haute boho can go over the top so fast! Perfection. Again!

    1. Gosh, how sweet Jan. Thank you for the lovely words. For myself, I try very hard not to shop by trends. I like to purchase an item that would be an updated classic, but rarely do I spend money on trendy items that I feel have zero staying power. I did a post called No Expiration Date...that is how I like to shop. This winter, so many jumped on the 'pink coat' bandwagon. I didn't want to do that because I knew that next year, that it would be deemed, "So last year."
