A Vibrant New Year!

Hi Lovelies!

OK, OK, I said I may not post again until after Christmas, but I wanted to take this time to share this with you...

Have you thought much about any changes you plan on making for a more fashionable and stylish new year? I have! For myself, I plan on adding more vibrant colors to my existing wardrobe. If you have been following So What to Twenty, you know that I love neutrals. I'm truly a sucker for a white shirt. Neutrals are great, but I often find that by adding a bit more color, I feel more energized.

As many of you know, Pantone just announced the top 10 color trends for spring/summer 2014. I talked about the colors on my December 15th posting called Colors. Though I gravitated toward the more neutral hues, I thought about how fun it would be to wear an intense yellow or orange. Recently I purchased a copy of InStyle Magazine and discovered a fantastic gift inside. Watch the video to see what I'm talking about. Enjoy!

Here's to a more vibrant New Year{wink}

  1. Thanks, I haven't even opened my magazine but will do so this evening. I have a chart posted in my closet so I will keep this one in my purse. HAPPY HOLIDAYS and thanks for sharing - I love the video.

  2. I'm sure you will succeed in sticking to that resolution, Glenda :-) The only change I am planning on making (and am already making) is to drink less, but that has nothing to do with fashion of course :-)

    2. So far so good! Had a Christmas party today and I only drank one cup of gluhwein and two glasses of champagne. Not bad, right? :-) Happy holidays, Glenda!

  3. Nice work on the video, BOTH of you!!

    I am definitely going to wear more color in 2014. I've been discovering all of the over-40 fashion blogs this month. I've also been revelling in online shopping and found so many great deals for me, while selecting Christmas gifts! (It's close to embarrassing, but I'm dealing with it lol). I have been retired from full-time work for a while now, and cared for my Mom until last August. I think I'm set to bloom! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and that it is filled with both great fashion and lots of love and family!!

  7. That was lovely to hear you speak!! Your voice matches the picture I had of you (mine will not haha, I have a very high pitched voiced.)
    Wishing you a very happy and good 2014 too.
    I know wwhich colours suit me best (so Radiant Orchid is fine by me), but what to pair them with is a different story. I will have to go to an international bookstore to see whether they sell that magazine in The Netherlands.

    PS I am getting worried though. When I started blogging November 2012 I was so enthousiastic that I did not think...I posted all my outfits, bought lots of new clothes. And now I am at a point where I say: stop! But what does this mean for my blog?? First I thought: make new combinations. But I am notoriously bad at that. And I had that reconfirmed these last two months. Oh dear...

    1. I always shreek when I hear my voice. I think it sounds child like.
      I havent brought much of anything for the blog. When I began, I already had a large wardrobe, and sincey style is classic, its been easy to mix and match. Greetje I understand what youre saying because I wonder what will happen when I run out of ideas. I dont have a big budget for clothing. Especially with my oldest son approaching the college years. I think that becuase Im not much of an ensrmble shopper but more of a piece buyer, it makes pulling outfits together for fun. Is it challenging? Yes, but I love that. It makes me appreciate my clothes more to see that they have mutiple personalities. I bet if you dive into your wardrobe with a different set of eyes and perspective, you find that your closet has an entirely new life span :)

    2. I agree. Too bad I am notoriously bad in styling. Everybody always says: no you are so good. But I am not you know. And I am not being modest here. So challenging yes. Very.
