A Look Behind the Scenes (Video)

Hi Lovelies!

Yesterday (Sunday) my hubby/photographer/videographer decided to film me while I was in the midst of styling four outfits for upcoming blog posts. In essence, the outfits shown are the outfits that I plan on wearing on upcoming outings.

Oh yes, make sure your volume is turned up high. Because he was standing at a distance from me, it's kind of hard to hear what I'm saying.

I plan on doing a bit more filming as time moves along. You can subscribe to my budding YouTube channel by clicking the link below. I would love to have you{wink}

The Best of Glenda's Style - 2013!

My Dear Lovelies,

Thank you so much for taking this fashion and lifestyle journey with me. It is my hope that you enjoy experiencing my style choices as much as I enjoy sharing them with you! I remember hitting 'Send' on my very first So What to Twenty post back in June of this year 2013. I was both apprehensive, but excited at the same time. There were times when the posts went unnoticed. Soon, however, I received a message from Elle of My Daily Costume, and then My of Chic Glitter Gal. With their advice, and the advice of other bloggers (you know who you are), So What to Twenty began to reach out into a very vivacious family of fashion bloggers from all over the world. I am so thankful to be a part of this community!

To end the 2013 year, I put together some of my most popular looks from the beginning of my blogging journey to the end of this year. Enjoy them!

A Vibrant New Year!

Hi Lovelies!

OK, OK, I said I may not post again until after Christmas, but I wanted to take this time to share this with you...

Have you thought much about any changes you plan on making for a more fashionable and stylish new year? I have! For myself, I plan on adding more vibrant colors to my existing wardrobe. If you have been following So What to Twenty, you know that I love neutrals. I'm truly a sucker for a white shirt. Neutrals are great, but I often find that by adding a bit more color, I feel more energized.

As many of you know, Pantone just announced the top 10 color trends for spring/summer 2014. I talked about the colors on my December 15th posting called Colors. Though I gravitated toward the more neutral hues, I thought about how fun it would be to wear an intense yellow or orange. Recently I purchased a copy of InStyle Magazine and discovered a fantastic gift inside. Watch the video to see what I'm talking about. Enjoy!

Here's to a more vibrant New Year{wink}

I hope that you all have a wonderfully joyous...

and albeit fashionable holiday season that is filled with...

the flavors of hot cocoa...

Overalls and Cognac

Hello Lovelies!

So here's the deal...Just about everything that I purchase has to be altered in some way or another. I am barely 5 feet tall and voluptuous. Technically, I'm considered petite, but manufacturers tend to think that if you're petite, you come without curves. Not the case for me.

When I am able to buy something off the rack that truly fits, I can literally hear the angels in heaven sing Alleluia. Such is the case for the overalls that I'm wearing in today's post. During a Christmas shopping excursion to TJ Maxx, I happened upon them in Juniors. I was skeptical about trying them on, but decided to give it a go. One leg at a time I watched as the overalls began to glide on. "Oh my goodness...they fit!"

I couldn't believe it...zero alterations needed! And with that, I headed to check out with the biggest grin on my face and thoughts about how I was going to style them for the blog. I love the updated design of the overalls and the faded feathering in the front. The coolest aspect is that they have a bit of spandex so they aren't stiff but meld perfectly to my form. Oh Happy Day!!!

Today's look: Overalls from TJ Maxx, T-shirt from Loft, Scarf from Amazon.com, bag purchased from TJ Maxx by Michael Kors, Shoes purchased from TJ Maxx by BCBG, Cellphone is Samsung Galaxy, Polish is Glitzerland by OPI.

I'm really feelin' my new updated overalls and plan on getting major use out of them. Spring, summer, winter and fall - you'll find me in my new overalls{wink}

Mid-Week Shout Out!

Hi Lovelies!

By now, most of you should know about the Mid-Week Shout Out. But for new followers, here is the story...

I began fashion blogging on June 13, 2013. During this short time, I have met some incredible fellow bloggers and followers. I am very grateful to persons whom take the time to write thoughtful comments, and genuinely take the time to build friendships. Since I love the camaraderie between bloggers, I decided to begin a new post called the Mid-Week Shout Out, where I personally thank a blogger or follower for their thoughtfulness and their time for offering advice or commenting on So What to Twenty!

My 8th Mid-Week Shout Out goes to (drum roll)...

Whitney of WhitneyNicJames

I first discovered Whitney on a weekly blog link-up. I really enjoy Whitney's blog because it has opened my eyes to a new way to shop. Her blog niche is all about thrifting! Though I have gone into thrift stores, I never really purchased anything. Seeing how Whitney shops the thrift stores as motivated me into venturing out once again. Each time I read her blog, I am excited to see what her latest find will be.

Please, stop by and say "Hi" to Whitney and discover her blog - WhitneyNicJames!

Thank you Whitney for all of your comments, and like I always end my post - This is for you...{wink}.

Silver Bells

Hello Lovelies!

Only 8 more days until Christmas and on the day I took these pictures, it was 88 degrees in my area. Yep, that's right...88 degrees. And on top of that, I had a holiday luncheon to attend. Since it felt like summer, I decided to play with my favorite hot weather metallic - Silver!

The dress that I'm wearing was purchased a few years ago from TJ Maxx, my go-to shopping destination when I need something cute and on a budget. A few years ago, my husband worked on the crew for the short lived Jackson brothers reality t.v. show. So, he and I attended a premier party for the Jackson Family (yes, as in Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie and Tito). I wanted something fun to wear so I ran into TJ Maxx and found a metallic Michael Kors baby doll styled dress. It fit like a glove. To this day, it is still one of my favorite special occasion dresses. I especially love it because I can stuff my face and not worry about the tummy area. I have styled this dress in many different ways: Daytime casual, Daytime dressing, and After Five. It is extremely versatile. As a matter of fact, I took this dress with me on my families Mexican cruise. I wore it for the Captain's Dinner.

So today, I present to you my interpretation of how Californians do Christmas celebrations on a very hot day. The final shot is one I selected from the Jackson party in 2009. Enjoy the pictures!

Tito Jackson, my hubby Fred and Me. I had my hair straightened for the night and I had on high-heeled strappy sandals.

I adore this dress for so many reasons. Do you have a go to piece that never lets you down for a special occasion? Do share, I would love to know {wink}
