Overalls and Cognac

Hello Lovelies!

So here's the deal...Just about everything that I purchase has to be altered in some way or another. I am barely 5 feet tall and voluptuous. Technically, I'm considered petite, but manufacturers tend to think that if you're petite, you come without curves. Not the case for me.

When I am able to buy something off the rack that truly fits, I can literally hear the angels in heaven sing Alleluia. Such is the case for the overalls that I'm wearing in today's post. During a Christmas shopping excursion to TJ Maxx, I happened upon them in Juniors. I was skeptical about trying them on, but decided to give it a go. One leg at a time I watched as the overalls began to glide on. "Oh my goodness...they fit!"

I couldn't believe it...zero alterations needed! And with that, I headed to check out with the biggest grin on my face and thoughts about how I was going to style them for the blog. I love the updated design of the overalls and the faded feathering in the front. The coolest aspect is that they have a bit of spandex so they aren't stiff but meld perfectly to my form. Oh Happy Day!!!

Today's look: Overalls from TJ Maxx, T-shirt from Loft, Scarf from Amazon.com, bag purchased from TJ Maxx by Michael Kors, Shoes purchased from TJ Maxx by BCBG, Cellphone is Samsung Galaxy, Polish is Glitzerland by OPI.

I'm really feelin' my new updated overalls and plan on getting major use out of them. Spring, summer, winter and fall - you'll find me in my new overalls{wink}

  3. You have very possibly made an overalls convert of me! Really!! I haven't been a big fan of the look, but you've styled these beautifully!

Funny thing about blogs...I had no idea you were 5' tall. How tall? I just assumed you were 5'6" - 5'8". I'm just under 5'2", and I feel I look short in a lot of my photographs. You really know how to dress your silhouette in a flattering manner.

    1. Really Sue...I think I look short in my photos too. I think it is because we know our height. It may be because of the angles my husband shoots in that gives the illusion of length.

Thank you for the lovely compliments. I'm glad I made a convert in you :)

  8. Glenda you look divine!!! I've never seen someone looking so chic wearing an overall. Wow! That bag is beautiful.
Google is driving me nuts. Second day in a row that my reading list (dashboard) is missing. I haven't the faintest idea who has updates. And the new word verification is driving me insane too, all those numbers instead of letters. Argg!!!!! That's so &%/$!!!! Sorry just had to rant.

    1. Thank you Lenya! One think I loved about the overalls is that the back isn't the traditional design so they don't look as "farmerish"

I haven't been experiencing any issues with Google and I hope they don't begin. I don't think I'm posting next week. Are you?

  9. You added the right accessories to your overall! Shoes, bag and scarf of the same shade are very nice.
And, by the way, you are very feminine and cool wearing that outfit!

  10. Glenda,
I love them! They look comfy and chic at the same time, maybe that is because you styled them? Yes, it is! I had a pair once made of cotton and tencel and they were like wearing liquid velvet!
Great buy, too: so glad you found them at TJ's: a great place to shop!

  12. I thought I had commented on these overalls already....I must have in my head. Lol! Welp...I adore them. I actually spotted them myself and pointed them out to my Mom a few weeks ago. They are super cute and I love the way you style them. Those shoes are everything too!

  14. NEVER saw overalls look so good. The cognac on cognac...yes. My bags and shoes are all black or cognac and I am afraid of the tan on tan being too matchy. Nope. It works. I am 4' 11" and 28 but my sole is 50 and divorced.

    1. Thank you Natalia! I have two pairs of overalls, the traditional (farmer style) and these. I much prefer this type because it's more feminine. However, when I wear the traditional pair, I like to add very girly touches to them. I'm glad you like this look.
